St. Paul & The Broken Bones, praised by NPR as “one of the nation’s best live bands,” have released their latest single, “Fall Moon,” ahead of their forthcoming self-titled sixth studio album, due October 10 via Oasis Pizza Records/Thirty Tigers. Frontman Paul Janeway describes the track as a playful, heartfelt love song inspired by language, melody, and the band’s collaborative spark.
“It’s probably the happiest song we’ve ever written,” Janeway admits with a smile.
The new record, St. Paul & The Broken Bones, represents both a reinvention and a homecoming. Building on the experimental edges of The Alien Coast (2022) and Angels in Science Fiction (2023), the album embraces warmth, accessibility, and the joyful energy that first defined the band on their breakout debut Half the City (2014). Recorded at the legendary FAME Studios in Muscle Shoals and co-written with Grammy-winning songwriter/producer Eg White (Adele, Florence + The Machine), the album focuses on pure songcraft and band chemistry.
Janeway calls the project “comfort food,” with tracks that blend soul, funk, brass, and rock. Highlights include the jubilant “Ooo-Wee,” the breezy “Seagulls,” the deep-grooved “Nothing More Lonely,” and the brass-driven “Fall Moon.” The band’s philosophy this time around? “Best song wins.”
In addition to the album release, St. Paul & The Broken Bones will embark on a UK and European tour in early 2026, with stops in London, Paris, Berlin, Copenhagen, and more. Before heading overseas, they’ll continue performing at festivals and venues across North America this fall.
