Influences for The Coral stem from Phil Spector’s productions with The Ramones and Dion, including early influences of Bob Marley, ELO and the Traveling Wilburys. The Coral’s new album delves into themes reflecting lyrical and philosophical aspects. The band have announced a new headline tour in the UK starting in October, and support comes from She Drew The Gun, who are signed to Coral’s frontman James Skelly’s Skeleton Key label. The Coral’s keyboard player, Nick Power, wrote a new book, “Into The Void,” which will be published the same time the band’s new album release.
Since their debut EP release in 2001, The Coral have sold over a million UK albums, with five reaching the Top 10 including 2003’s chart-topping Magic and Medicine. Their eight Top 40 singles include “Dreaming Of You,” “In The Morning,” “Pass It On,” and “Don’t Think You’re The First.”
