Announced on Aug. 9, founding KISS guitarist and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member, Ace Frehley, has released a new song called “Rockin’ With The Boys.” This is the second single from his upcoming new album, Spaceman, releasing on Oct. 19, 2018 via Entertainment One (eOne). Frehley previously released the track “Bronx Boy” in April 2018.
Spaceman is Frehley’s eighth solo LP, and features nine new original tracks, with a cover of Eddie Money’s “I Wanna Go Back.”
“Rockin’ With The Boys” tells the story of life on the road with fellow bandmates and others Frehley shares the stage with. In a press release, Frehley notes that he wrote the original version back in the ’70s during his time with KISS. The single is available on all streaming platforms, and if fans pre-order the album, this single and “Bronx Boys” are instant downloads.
Not only did Frehley play guitar on each song for Spaceman, he also played bass on all except for two. He also collaborated with his former KISS comrades, Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley for a few songs on Spaceman.
Spaceman (a title suggested by Gene Simmons) is the first collection of all new Frehley written material since 2014’s Space Invader, which debuted at #9 on the Top 200 Chart. The LP scored the highest charting position of any former or current KISS band member ever and marked Frehley’s first return to the Top 10 since KISS’s 1998 Psycho Circus reunion album.
Frehley has been releasing solo work since his self-titled, Ace Frehley, released in 1978, sold over one million copies, resulting in the Top 40 single “New York Groove.”
