After announcing their new live release of Live At The Royal Albert Hall, Alter Bridge are releasing another video from the live performance titled “Words Darker Than Their Wings.” The song pulls from the band’s 2010 album ABIII, with having never been performed live until October 2017.
The song showcases Myles Kennedy and Mark Tremonti’s vocals together for the first time also. Check out the video for the single below, and the audio is available on all streaming partners:
“’Words Darker Than Their Wings’ was a song that we never played before ever and its been one of our favorites, especially me and Scott Phillips. That’s been one of our top 3 Alter Bridge songs since we wrote it and its just one of those songs that we have been trying and trying and trying to play live and Myles is always kind of pushing back about it and finally, you know with this orchestra he [Myles] said this is the perfect time to do it. We did and it was the biggest reaction of both nights,” explains Mark Tremonti in the full-length movie of the concert.
Live At The Royal Albert Hall is a 21-song collection that features some of Alter Bridge’s biggest hits, fan favorites and even a couple of rarities. Songs like “Before Tomorrow Comes,” “Ghost Of Days Gone By,” “The Last Hero,” and “Broken Wings” all find new life with the unique arrangements presented by Dobson and the Parallax Orchestra performing with the band.
