Discover their love of all things Christmas, memories and traditions, what’s next for 2020 and their fun music favorites.
I really enjoy your latest Christmas single, “First Thing On My Christmas List.” What influences you both to write and produce Christmas singles each year?
Maggie McClure & Shane Henry: Thanks! We just love the holidays and Christmas music. We love performing Christmas songs! There’s something magical and nostalgic about it.
What are some of your favorite Christmas memories?
Maggie: one of my favorite Christmas memories is when I was 5 years old, I actually caught Santa Claus leaving a present for me under the tree. It was a memory I will never forget!
Do you guys have any Christmas traditions you engage in each year?
Maggie: My mom and I make homemade Christmas cookies every year!
For your original holiday song with “First Thing On My Christmas List,” what was collaboration like filming the music video for it?
Shane: We had a blast filming the video. We worked with our talented friends at Intellego Media in Oklahoma – Reagan Elkins is an incredible director. We wanted to capture all things Christmas – and I think we did just that and more!
What is each of you guys’ writing and recording process like?
Maggie & Shane: We both have our own ways of writing but really each song comes in its own way and in its own time. Sometimes we will write lyrics first. Sometimes music comes first. Sometimes we start songs from scratch together but a lot of the time one of us will bring an idea to the other. We have recorded in many different ways as well but love to record in an organic setting where we are all recording together!
What’s next for you guys in 2020?
Maggie & Shane: We are excited to release our debut non-holiday album as The Imaginaries in 2020!
