In her debut novel, author Kristen Bird tells the story of a missing high school senior, Emily, who’s found months later floating in the town’s harbor, alive but unconscious. There are questions asked; where has she been, and how did she get into the water? This suspenseful thriller, “The Night She Went Missing,” centers around three friends who become enemies in a tight-knit, wealthy Texas community, who decide to do their own investigation when the police hit a dead end. With each friend having secrets of their own, they have to dig deeper, and closer to home, to uncover the truth.
Kristen Bird lives outside of Houston, Texas with her husband and three daughters. She earned her bachelor’s degree in music and mass media before completing a master’s in literature. She teaches high school English and writes with a cup of coffee in hand. In her free time, she likes to visit parks with her three daughters, watch quirky films with her husband and attempt to keep pace with her rescue lab-mixes.
