'Malibu Coast' follows Strickland’s genre bending 'Don’t You Wanna' feat. Juicy J
Musical innovator Denny Strickland releases his latest single “Malibu Coast” today. The up-tempo beat fuses country notes with a myriad of elements from various musical genres creating a distinct sound that Strickland has become so well known for.
“When I was writing the lyrics for ‘Malibu Coast’ all I could think was life lived to the fullest, while looking out over a gorgeous view. Every time I close my eyes, I feel the sun shine, I hear the waves crash, I smell the salt in the air. You get a taste of that in these lyrics. Life is too short not to live the most. My good time begins and ends on the coast…the West Coast that is,” Strickland says.
“Malibu Coast,” written by Strickland and Buford Williams, Jr., is the first single from Strickland’s highly anticipated second album set for release in 2020.
Strickland is no stranger pairing country roots with urban West Coast vibes, his last single “Don’t You Wanna” showcased those skills on a fire collaboration with world-renowned hip-hop artist Juicy J. The R&B influenced country anthem seamlessly blended the two wildly different worlds.
