Rock-alternative band Love Ghost are just out of high school, although all members of the band have been playing together and writing songs since middle school. The five piece band are also avid and seasoned tour warriors, as they toured Ireland, Japan, played the mainstage at Festival fff in Ambato, Ecuador, and played a sold-out hometown show at Resident in Los Angeles. The group have shared the stage with Buckcherry, Berlin, Smash Mouth, The Young Dubliners, The Tubes, Fuel, and Irish singer-songwriter Mundy. Their music videos are exceptional and have been heralded numerous awards from over thirty film festivals around the world. The band was awarded Best Alternative Rock Band by the Hollywood Music in Media Awards and received The Jean Luc Goddard Award from Cult Critic Magazine.
Their recent single, “Chasin’ Money and B*****,” was produced by Danny Saber (The Rolling Stones, Alice Cooper, the Charlatans, Public Enemy, among others), and it’s accompanying music video was directed by Dean Karr (Queens of the Stone Age, Mark Lanegan). The single was featured on Spotify’s “New Noise” playlist, along with Apple’s “Breaking Hard Rock” and “Fresh Blood” playlists, and has amassed over 1 million streams since it’s release with the music video quickly gaining steam with already half a million streams. Their upcoming single, out on May 8, “I’ll Be Fine” takes on the theme of loneliness through an angsty lens.

You guys’ latest single “Chasin’ Money and Bitches,” is out now, which is a comedic look on what culture values most. Can you share with us the story behind the single?
Finnegan Bell: Some songs have a wild story of how it came to be, this one was just really simple. We were just over at Danny’s house, we were messing around, having a good time and then this song came to be.
The song had a huge and positive response, along with the music video for it. Did you guys have a lot of input with the video?
Finn: Me and Julian came up with the concept for the video. So yeah, we had a lot of input ourselves.
You guys have a sound that’s a mix of grunge, rock, and alternative. What was you guys’ introduction to music growing up?
Finn: Nirvana, Deftones, and Alice in Chains were three bands that were really influential for us growing up.
What encouraged you all to pursue music as a career?
Finn: We were all passionate about music, so we all committed to it and we put the music before our selves.
You all worked with Danny Saber. How did that enlistment come about, and what was the collaboration like?
Finn: We met Danny through a homie and he came to one of our shows and then we hit it off. Working with him was an exciting experience.
You guys are all avid tourists with your music and have supported so many popular acts. What’s the first thing you guys are looking forward to once you tour again?
Finn: Being able to play live music again will be a blessing and something we are grateful for. We can’t wait to extend our fan base more.
With all of the isolation/quarantine going on, what all have you been doing to keep yourselves creatively occupied?
Finn: We’ve been practicing and writing new music.
What are you all currently listening to, reading, and/or watching?
Finn The Joe Rogan Experience, City Morgue, System of a Down and I’ve been watching “The Wire.”
Do you have a guilty music and/or entertainment pleasure?
Finn: We’ve been watching a lot of “Drake and Josh,” because it’s a superior show. That’s not a guilty pleasure, we say that with pride.
