After being taken away from her birth parents by the state, placed in the foster care system, adopted at the age of four, singer-songwriter and musician Jenni Alpert, decided to search for her birth father. When she found him, he was homeless, addicted, and wanted by the law, and a musician just like Jenni. Their reunion is nothing short of a magical reunion and over four years of bonding, where Cami (Jenni Alpert), charters her own path to her birth father’s release from the legal system, ceasing his street crime, and breaking his cycle of homelessness, due to transformational and unconditional love.
Together, they joined in musical harmony to share their story, sing and write songs with others facing similar challenges. Their story together has only deepened, still sharing their strong, musical bond, admiration, and love. The duo toured in August throughout the US, performing at homeless centers and rescue missions, resulting in Homeless: the Soundtrack, a short documentary that showcases their journey through homelessness exuding in Los Angeles, and all around the globe.

We are proud to partner with Jenni to exclusively premiere her new beautiful new single, “Constellations.” In describing the song, Jenni states that:
The song “Constellations” is inspired by personal experiences with adoption, foster care, biological reunions, and the concept The Adoption Constellation, a term coined by psychologist and writer Michael Phillip Grand who understood that the adoptee and all the components connected to them were part of one large bigger thing, and his coined metaphor of “constellation” drafting The Adoption Constellation as a new way of thinking about adoption to help map it out, connect all parts, and heal the “primal wound” for all components – the birth parents, the adoptive parents, adoptees, sometimes formerly fostered in foster care like me – placement agencies, attorneys, social workers therapists, birth and adoptive siblings, etc. to show that we are all part of one Adoption Constellation – all parts of one greater piece together.
The single features Jenni Alpert on vocals, rhodes, mellotron, and celeste, Shane Alexander on guitar, bass, and additional keys, Josh Grolemund on drums, and Stevie Blacke with string arrangement & strings. The single officially releases on September 21st, and you can exclusively listen to this gorgeous, and emotive single below:
