Americana Highways, has a great platform to assist roots music musicians from the US and world who have been affected by tour cancellations as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Thus, Americana Highways has announced Live Music from the Quarantine, a nightly live streaming music series, on Facebook. The series will be four back-to-back 30 minutes sets, all different artists, six nights a week scheduled over the coming weeks on the Facebook Live platform.
The performances will be archived on Americana Highways Facebook page here, and viewers can contribute to both the musicians as well as this wonderful website that champions great new music. To be sure you don’t miss these performances, follow Americana Highways on Facebook, so the shows will appear in your own Facebook feed.

The Harmed Brothers
Fronted by Ray Vietti and Alex Salcido, this Ludlow, Kentucky-based group beautifully marries Americana with compelling indie rock sounds, coupled with indelible melodies and thoughtful lyrics. Their new album Across The Waves is scheduled for a June 5 release on noted Portland, OR indie label Fluff and Gravy.

John McCutcheon
Smoke Rise, GA-based Grammy-nominated multi-instrumentalist, storyteller, and author McCutcheon has been called “the most impressive instrumentalist I ever heard” by the late Johnny Cash. Last year he released his 40th album, a tribute to his friend and mentor Pete Seeger featuring guests including Beausoleil, Hot Rize and Suzy Bogguss. He helped co-found the first traveling musician’s union, the AFM Local 1000.

Beth Bombara
St. Louis based Bombara released her album Evergreen last year and it was praised by critics and received excellent airplay on the Americana Panel. Amongst her media fans are American Songwriter (“Don’t let this one pass you by”), the L.A. Weekly (“Sometimes the voice gets you hooked in from the very first note”) and No Depression (“First thing you notice about Bombara is the resemblance to Aimee Mann, but instead of swimming, she takes you on a roller coaster ride.” ). Her honeyed vocals and lyrical prowess will capture you.

Grace Pettis
This Austin-based musician has been lauded by the Dallas Morning News as “one of the most talented young singer-songwriters in America.” Her new single “Landon” on MPress Records will be out on March 20 and she recently returned from Europe just in the nick of time. In addition, she is part of the trio Nobody’s Girl (with Rebecca Loebe and BettySoo) who will release a self-titled album via Lucky Hound Music in July. The first single from that album “Kansas” is available on all platforms now.

The Claudettes
This Chicago outfit call themselves “garage cabaret.” Their deliciously unique sound is anchored by bandleader Johnny Iguana’s fantastic piano work and sultry singer Berit Ulseth’s vocals that range from jazzy to rootsy to indie pop. Truly in a sonic league of their own, the band is set to release its new album High Times In The Dark on April 3 via Forty Below Records.
