Musicians Michael Logen and Shannon LaBrie have released their new single “All I Can Do,” for the second edition of Florida-based charity, Rock By The Sea‘s Write By The Sea, which is a series set dropping on June 26. ‘Write By The Sea’ brings a number of renowned songwriters together to write, record and produce an album from the ground up in a cottage on St. George Island, as noted in a press release. Rock By The Sea’s mission from mid-2000s is to bring together music enthusiasts and live music to raise money for charitable causes, utilizing a network of volunteers, musicians and fans for the last fourteen years, raising $800,000 for a variety of meaningful charitable causes. Since its inception, Rock By The Sea has evolved to writing and recording original music. The songs featured on the new compilation consist of an eclectic group of genres, including folk, pop, rock, soul and Americana.
Michael and Shannon are both based in Nashville, and Michael’s songs have been featured in a number of TV shows, movies and commercials, with his tracks sung on albums by Kelly Clarkson, Mat Kearney, Jonny Lang and Sister Hazel. Shannon’s songs have received over 12 million plays across digital platforms and have received high praise and critical acclaim. Proceeds from the Write By The Sea, Vol.2 will benefit brain cancer research, and other causes the Rock By The Sea organization have contributed to are, Immunotherapy research, Down Syndrome outreach, Tennessee area libraries and Humane Societies, Feed the Children, among others, with currently 38 states assisting with this outreach.

Shannon LaBrie and I wrote, “All I Can Do”, in an alternate tuning on the front porch of the house where “Write By The Sea” was hosted on I think the second day we were there and we recorded it as a duet. It’s a song for all the times you didn’t know how to help someone that you cared about who was struggling, but you finally commit to just being there with them, in their struggle, rather than trying to fix it.
