Acclaimed alt-rock duo, Shovels & Rope, will head out on headlining fall tour beginning October 3, in support of their critically heralded new album, By Blood. Additionally, the duo are releasing a conceptual film that was filmed during a 2017 live show, featuring a surreal storyline with actors and a setting that moves in and out of the duo’s performance in front of a sold-out crowd. Concluding the movie is when the two worlds come together in a dream like circumstance, with the duo appearing and participating in communal gathering with a cast of characters. Shovels & Rope: The Movie will be released direct to consumer, and includes a separate download of ten live tracks. For more information about the film, click here.
By Blood was released by Dualtone Music in April of this year (2019), with press surrounding the album with high praise from the likes of NPR Music, Consequence of Sound, Associated Press, Billboard, American Songwriter, Rolling Stone Country, MOJO, A.V.
