Album features Nas, Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Busta Rhymes, Saweetie and more
LL COOL J, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee and Grammy-winning hip-hop icon, has released his first album in over ten years, THE FORCE (Frequencies of Real Creative Energy), via Def Jam Recordings / Virgin Music Group. The 14-track album, produced entirely by Q-Tip of A Tribe Called Quest, blends modern sounds with classic hip-hop energy. Featuring collaborations with artists like Nas, Eminem, and Snoop Dogg, THE FORCE explores themes of racial injustice, isolation, and legacy. The album’s lead single, “Murdergram Deux” with Eminem, highlights both artists’ lyrical skills. LL Cool J will perform at the 2024 VMAs on September 11 to celebrate the album’s release.
“It feels good to finally have this record out in the world,” LL said. “As I’ve said before, this album brings a whole new vibe. I’m returning to my roots…you all better buckle up.”
THE FORCE addresses significant themes such as racial injustice, law enforcement abuses, and the impact of the pandemic while also reflecting on LL COOL J’s legacy and his place in hip-hop. The album combines urgency and relevance with engaging and entertaining content, potentially guiding the future direction of the genre.
