UK breakthrough popstar L Devine has released her new single, “Don’t Say It,” out now on Warner Records. “Don’t Say It” is the 22-year-old’s latest release similarly in the vein of rising pop music, praised by her fellow Brits and peers Charli XCX, Dua Lipa and Lewis Capaldi, and has received positive press. The song was co-written with Grammy-nominated producers Rogét Chahayed (Halsey, Travis Scott) and John Hill (Rihanna, Charli XCX).
L Devine says,
“‘Don’t Say It’ is about when someone tells you they love you but they don’t mean it, they’re just telling you what you want to hear. It’s about how beautiful the lie is and how much you try to believe it, but the truth always reveals itself and hurts you. I love the way these feelings are depicted in the music too. There’s such an interesting use of space in the song and the contrasts between tranquillity and chaos in the music really reflect the lyrics.”
