Pilgrimage Music & Cultural Festival has partnered with Twice Daily, the local convenience and fuel retailer serving Middle Tennessee, to help reduce the carbon footprint of the festival. Through Twice Daily Thrive™ , Twice Daily’s reduced emissions program, carbon emissions generated from the two-day event will be measured and negative impacts on the environment will be neutralized through investments in certified carbon offset projects.
Having already planted over 14,500 trees in partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation, the Twice Daily Thrive™ program will also make the Pilgrimage Festival a greener, earth-friendly experience for all. Patrons of Pilgrimage Festival are contributing to an effort of sustainability simply by attending.
“We are proud to make Pilgrimage Festival more sustainable through this partnership with the Twice Daily Thrive™ program. Preserving our environment for future generations to enjoy is a responsibility we all need to contribute toward,” said Kevin Griffin, event founder. “And because the rolling Tennessee hills where the event is held is such a special place, it is serendipitous for us to partner with a local company with such a deep dedication to serving Middle Tennessee.”
The Twice Daily Thrive™ program will track emissions by measuring energy usage throughout all areas of the festival, including fuel and energy usage via generators, foot traffic and lights, and in turn, make investments in certified carbon-offset projects, like reforestation, wildlife protection and renewable energy initiatives.
“Our partnership with Pilgrimage Festival naturally supports our commitment to community,” said Dawn Boulanger, Twice Daily Vice President of Marketing. “We are excited to be able to extend our Thrive program’s impact by not just reducing the tailpipe emissions from our customers but helping to reduce the carbon emissions generated from all attendees of the two-day festival.”
The Pilgrimage Music & Cultural Festival takes place Sept. 21-22 at The Park at Harlinsdale in historic downtown Franklin, Tennessee and will include performances from ground-breaking artists such as the Foo Fighters, Keith Urban and The Killers. Weekend passes and single-day tickets may be purchased at https://pilgrimagefestival.com/tickets.
About Twice Daily Thrive™
The Twice Daily Thrive™ program offsets carbon dioxide tailpipe emissions from anyone purchasing fuel at a participating Twice Daily fuel location. Through a partnership with GreenPrint, an environmental technology company, carbon dioxide emissions are calculated for each gallon of fuel purchased. GreenPrint then invests proportionally in certified carbon offset projects to capture or reduce carbon dioxide equivalent emissions. GreenPrint works with a globally recognized accounting firm annually to validate and attest to the entire process from carbon calculation to carbon credit retirement. 100% of Twice Daily Thrive™’s carbon offset commitments are met through investments in certified carbon offset projects.
In addition, the Twice Daily Thrive™ program has gone above and beyond the carbon offset commitment and has planted over 14,500 trees through a partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation. Find more information about Twice Daily Thrive here.
