Starring Golda Rosheuvel and Nick Frost
The family film Grow, starring Golda Rosheuvel (Bridgerton) and Nick Frost (Hot Fuzz), is currently being showcased at the 2024 American Film Market (AFM) in Las Vegas. It is set for a 2025 release and is produced by Double Nickel Entertainment, in association with Sky and Orogen Entertainment. SC Films International handles global sales rights.
Directed by John McPhail (Anna and the Apocalypse), Grow centers on Dinah Little, a grumpy farmer played by Rosheuvel, who reluctantly takes in her niece Charlie (Priya-Rose Brookwell) from an orphanage. The story unfolds in the “Pumpkin Capital of the World,” where the highlight of the year is a high-stakes pumpkin-growing contest with a huge cash prize. With a special affinity for plants, Charlie enters the contest but faces sabotage and a genetically engineered rival. As Charlie nurtures her pumpkin, a bond grows between her and Dinah.
In addition to Rosheuvel and Brookwell, the cast includes Nick Frost, Tim McInnerny, Jane Horrocks, and comedian Alan Carr. The film’s production team includes Adam Richman, Jenette Kahn, and Joe Capotorto of Double Nickel Entertainment. Nick Guthe, Christos N. Gage, and Ruth Fletcher Gage wrote the screenplay.
Supporting cast includes Joe Wilkinson (After Life), Kathryn Drysdale (Bridgerton), Fisayo Akinade (Heartstopper), and Sharon Rooney (Barbie).
Grow is produced with Sky and commissioned by Andrew Orr, Head of Original Film at Sky UK. The film will be released globally in theaters and on Sky Cinema in the UK and Ireland in 2025. SC Films CEO Simon Crowe expressed excitement about the project, calling it a “funny and uplifting film for all the family.”
Executive producers from Sky, Orogen Entertainment, SC Films International, and Screen Scotland, among others, are supporting the film.

Jenette Kahn and Adam Richman are partners at Double Nickel Entertainment in NYC. They optioned Gran Torino from the writer Nick Schenk when he wasn’t yet represented, developed it with him, and are producers on the movie. Of all Clint Eastwood’s films, it is second commercially only to American Sniper, grossing $270,000,000 worldwide theatrically.
The Company is currently represented by Maggie Bett’s acclaimed The Burial at Amazon starring Jamie Foxx and Tommy Lee Jones. After a Gala Premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, the film was released in the fall of 2023 in theatres followed by an Amazon Prime Global roll-out. It is a critical smash at 94% on Rotten Tomatoes with Top Critics. The Burial has far surpassed Amazon’s viewership projections, becoming one of the most watched releases ever on Prime for an original film.
In partnership with That’s Wonderful Productions, Double Nickel produced A Kid Like Jake starring Claire Danes, Jim Parsons and Octavia Spencer. The film premiered at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival and was one of a handful of films that sold. IFC released Jake in June of 2018 to critical acclaim.
Prior to A Kid Like Jake, their most recent release was The Book of Henry that Colin Trevorrow directed after Jurassic World. Naomi Watts and IT star Jaeden Martell lead the cast alongside Jacob Tremblay.
In addition to other projects, the Company’s movie prior to Henry was the critically-acclaimed La Chispa de la Vida that they shot in Spanish in Spain. It premiered at Tribeca and received a great review from Neil Genzlinger in The New York Times. Playlist called it “the jewel of the festival” and both stars of the film were nominated for Goyas. Double Nickel is currently developing a Hindi version of the film.
In television, Jenette and Adam are under a non-exclusive episodic deal with Sky Studios that enables them to option and develop IP for TV. Through this deal, they have sold shows to Apple, Peacock and Quibi. Double Nickel has also sold series to Warner Bros. Television.
Grow is their first film with Sky.
